Premium Standard Farms hog operations in North Carolina are based in Clinton with a maintenance garage and feed mill operation in Tarboro. Production farms are located primarily in Duplin, Greene, Pitt and Sampson counties.

These counties are in eastern North Carolina. Tarboro is located in Edgecombe County approximately 90 minutes east of the state capital of Raleigh. Clinton, located in Sampson County is approximately 75 minutes southeast of Raleigh and 60 minutes northwest of Wilmington.

Sampson County is centrally located between several state parks and the Wrightsville Beach area near Wilmington offering great hunting, fishing and recreational areas.

Edgecombe County is located a little over an hour from the Albemarle Sound and Lake Mattamuskeet. Two hours east of Tarboro is the historic town of Manteo and the northern Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Many county fairs, festivals, fishing and golf events are held in this region during the spring, summer and fall. Some notables are: the Azalea Festival and North Carolina Jazz Festival, both held in Wilmington and the North Carolina Seafood Festival held in Morehead City in October.

Major population centers in this area are Clinton (8,600) Tarboro (11,138) Fayetteville (121,015) Dunn (9,196) Wilmington (75,838) Raleigh (276,093) Rocky Mount (55,893) Greenville (60,476). Each town offers many activities for residents and guests.
